Μαρτίου 2020, το Πολεμικό Ναυτικό συμμετείχε στην Άσκηση του ΝΑΤΟ “DYNAMIC
MANTA 20”, με τη Φρεγάτα «ΑΙΓΑΙΟΝ» μετά του οργανικού της ελικοπτέρου (τύπου
S-70B) και το Υποβρύχιο «ΚΑΤΣΩΝΗΣ», στην ευρύτερη θαλάσσια περιοχή της
Σικελίας, Αδριατικής Θάλασσας και της κεντρικής Μεσογείου.
Η Άσκηση “DYNAMIC MANTA”, διεξάγεται υπό
το ΝΑΤΟ σε ετήσια βάση, με σκοπό την εκπαίδευση των συμμετεχόντων στον ανθυποβρυχιακό
πόλεμο υπό ρεαλιστικές συνθήκες, σε σύνθετα επιχειρησιακά σενάρια και περιβάλλον
πολλαπλής απειλής, καθώς και την προαγωγή του επιπέδου της συνεργασίας των
μονάδων σε συμμαχικό πλαίσιο.
Στην Άσκηση συμμετείχαν πλοία, υποβρύχια, ελικόπτερα, αεροσκάφη ναυτικής συνεργασίας και προσωπικό, από Γαλλία, Γερμανία, Ελλάδα, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες Αμερικής, Ισπανία, Ιταλία, Καναδά, Τουρκία καθώς και μονάδες της Συμμαχικής Ναυτικής Δύναμης Standing NΑΤΟ Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2).
